HealthSouth Midland/Odessa to Host Groundbreaking Event for Hospital Expansion
HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Midland/Odessa, a joint venture of HealthSouth and Midland Health, will host a community groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, March 2 at noon to celebrate the hospital’s expansion of 20 all-private, patient rooms. The event will take place at the hospital located at 1800 Heritage Boulevard in Midland.
A scheduled presentation will include remarks from Frank Brown, president of HealthSouth’s southwest region; Russell Meyers, president and CEO of Midland Health; and Chris Wortham, CEO of HealthSouth Midland/Odessa and will also allow guests to tour the existing hospital and learn about the new space.
"When we established our partnership with HealthSouth last year, this expansion was identified as an important part of the facility's future. We are excited to see it come to fruition, and expect that it will further enhance the outstanding inpatient rehabilitative services provided to the people of our region," said Meyers.
“We are excited to begin serving even more patients in west Texas through this 20-bed expansion,” said Wortham. “Our team is looking forward to helping more patients walk again, talk again, get back to work and return to their friends and families. It’s truly an honor to be able to provide the services we do every day for our patients.”
HealthSouth Midland/Odessa, an inpatient physical rehabilitation hospital, provides a higher level of rehabilitative care to patients who are recovering from conditions such as stroke and other neurological disorders, cardiac and pulmonary conditions, brain and spinal cord injuries, complex orthopedic conditions, and amputations.
The hospital expansion is expected to be completed this December.
